Dear Friends,
As you will be aware, the congregation that is made up of Boarhills, Dunino and St Andrews: Holy Trinity is a very busy one. As well as our regular acts of worship, and the weddings and funerals that take place, and concerts and other events, there is a constant stream of visitors, some who are pilgrims, some who are just curious, and some who want to use our buildings for quiet prayer and contemplation, perhaps because of a family thanksgiving, or a crisis, or a bereavement. The doors of Holy Trinity simply need to be opened and people will come in, and it would be lovely always to be able to say yes.
What is more, there are other activities that we can enjoy together. A few days ago, we had our Quiz Night which was enjoyed by those who came and made some money for Families First St Andrews. There is still time to contribute if you would like to do so. And next week we shall have our picnic at Boarhills, to which everyone is invited. It is always good to do things together as the family of God.
It was Queen Elizabeth II who said ‘I have to be seen to be believed’. She believed that the monarchy should be much in evidence rather than tucked away in a royal palace. We, as a congregation of God’s people, also need to be seen to be believed as we go about our many activities in the name of Jesus Christ. But there is more, for as we are seen to be enjoying each other’s company and working and worshipping together in the name of Jesus Christ, so we will make him real to those who do not yet know him.
With love and blessings,
Marion
