holy trinity church

Dear Friends,

I often watch programmes on television about finding new homes either in this country or abroad. It is always interesting to hear and see what people think will make an ideal home for them and their family. But when the participants ask how easy it will be to make friends in a new area, I have noticed that the presenters usually say that there are great pubs and restaurants, sports clubs and crafts of all sorts. But they almost never mention visiting the local church. What a sad comment that is on the reputation of the church both at home and abroad.

Here in Boarhills, Dunino and St Andrews Holy Trinity we like to think that we are a warm and welcoming Christian community, a community where it is easy to make friends with each other, a community in which we do our best to help and support each other, both in spiritual and very practical ways. We aim to be good listeners, to provide opportunities to share joys and sorrows, every sort of experience, usually over a cup of tea or coffee. We aspire to be a safe place for all.

But most of all we aim to share the love that God in Christ has for each one of us. Whether you have never been to church before, or you are a well- loved member of our Christian community you are always welcome here, for in the words of the well-loved hymn:

What a friend we have in Jesus

All our sins and griefs to bear

In his arms he’ll take and shield you

You will find a solace there.

With love and blessings,

Marion
