Dear Friends,
Last night I came home after a long day and put my rucksack down on the floor before taking Zoomy for a walk. After the walk I forgot about the rucksack which was securely zipped up and went to make myself myself a cup of tea which I then sat down to enjoy. All was quiet and I was able to relax for a while.
When I returned to the kitchen to make supper, I discovered that Zoomy had managed to unzip the rucksack, take out the plastic box inside, open it, and consume the contents! There followed a long conversation with the vet, before we came to the conclusion that she was not in any danger. I was cross with Zoomy and she was very quiet for the rest of the evening. However, this morning she was full of her usual mischief and none the worse for her thieving.
So, what are the positives to be taken out of this. Firstly, never trust a beagle when they are out of sight, especially if they are quiet! But more importantly, remember to be grateful for the fact that she didn’t make herself ill. Give thanks for the fact that I would not be tempted to eat the contents of the plastic box!
However, on a much more serious note. Christian gratitude is the constant humble and joyful recognition of God’s immense goodness, grace, and love in all aspects of life to all his people. Christian gratitude leads to a deeper faith and a transformed heart. It involves thankfulness for both material and spiritual gifts, including God’s very nature and the ultimate gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. This appreciation should lead to an outward expression of thankfulness and a desire to serve others, thus reflecting God’s generous grace back to the world.
With love and blessings,
Marion
