Dear Friends,
Yesterday I had the privilege of showing an American Pilgrimage group around Holy Trinity. Unfortunately, these groups are always very time limited so I could not show them Dunino church, although I did show them photographs and told then a little about it. After a brief history of Holy Trinity, about 30 Americans looked around the building enjoying the atmosphere and asking all sorts of questions about what they were seeing, as well as about our services and our work in the community. Before they left, they asked if we could have a time of worship and so we sang psalms, read the scriptures and prayed together. It was a very special time.
This particular Pilgrimage Company now have strong links with Boarhills, Dunino and St Andrews Holy Trinity. Their leader is a former Church of Scotland Minister now living in America, and he, and another group of pilgrims will be back later in the year. It is a great thing to be able to share our work and witness with people from all parts of the world, and it is also very enjoyable. What is more, it is something so many more of us could do.
These groups often come outside the usual summer opening times, so if you would like to join me in showing such groups around, please do let me know. I am sure they would love to speak to members of the congregation too.
Last, but by no means least, we are delighted to welcome Robin Bell as our organist in both churches today and look forward to hearing him play.
With love and blessings,
Marion
